Romance Writers of America is a non-profit organization for those interested in writing Romance fiction. Our purpose is to promote excellence in Romance fiction; to support and encourage our unpublished members in their efforts to become published; and to support, encourage, and promote the works and careers of our members published in Romance fiction.

OK-RWA meets monthly in the Oklahoma City area. At our meetings we share news about our writing and the latest happenings in the publishing world, and we have a program focused on one of the many aspects of writing Romance novels.

OKRWA Meetings

Date: 3rd Saturday of each month (unless otherwise noted on Programs page)

Location: Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are at the Oklahoma Museum of Art, Classroom C (see directions)

Time: Monthly Program: 1:00 pm;  Business Meeting: 2:00-2:30 pm

Many members bring their lunch and arrive at 12:00 to attend member book signings at local bookstores and visit with each other over lunch.  People usually arrange to meet at a local restaurant.

At each meeting we have a speaker who talks to us about writing or some research aspect of writing.  We've had historians, re-enactors, doctors, law enforcement officers, psychologists, and - oh, yes - authors!

Also at each meeting you'll hear the latest news gathered from the publishing world as our members each tell what they've been up to during the past month.

We're a friendly bunch of Outlaws and enjoy welcoming guests and new members.

Guests are welcome to attend up to two meetings.  Afterward, if you wish to continue attending, we ask that you become a member so that your dues can help defray the costs of our meetings.

Metered parking downtown on Saturday is free.

We will meet in Classroom C (or the “adult classroom”), which is carpeted and furnished with tables, chairs, and a built-in counter perfect for food and drink setup.

Classroom C also includes a marker board, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, speakers, and versatile lighting. The furniture in Classroom C can be moved to suit your meeting or event.  Seating capacity: 36 guests
