2008 Contest

Spring is the time of weddings, and we have one just for you!  Below you'll find your invitation to wed your blushing manuscript to TWO of our waiting, acquiring editors.

New in 2008 - Finally A Bride is now completely electronic, accepting only emailed submissions in the first round - See 'Rules' for details.

Who's Invited?  Participation is open to all unpublished authors of novel-length romance fiction. All work must be the author’s original work, and cannot be contracted for publication prior to the entry deadline.  Each manuscript must have finaled, but not won in a previous RWA or RWA chapter-sponsored contest. (Manuscripts which placed in the Top Quarter of the Golden Heart are also eligible.)

Your Reservation?  Entry fee is $25.00 for all RWA members, and $30 for all non-RWA members.  Please make checks payable to OK-RWA. Snail mail payments to:

Appropriate Entry attire consists of: First pages of your manuscript - total entry no longer than 30 pages. Proof of eligibility required upon demand. For details on manuscript formatting, read the Rules.

Officiating our First Round: RWA trained and/or pub'd authors.

The Bride (First Place Winner) in each category will receive a lovely engraved knife and cake server, suitable for cutting the cake in celebration of THE CALL.  In addition, any book that is published as a result of this contest will receive a free entry into the National Readers' Choice Award the first year of eligibility.

All other finalists will receive suitable recognition.
