OKRWA Meetings

Date:   3rd Saturday of each month (unless otherwise noted on Programs page)

Location:  Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are at the Oklahoma Museum of Art, Classroom C (see directions below)

Time:   Writer’s Life (early program): 10:00; Monthly Program: 1:00 pm;  Business Meeting: 2:00-2:30 pm

Each meeting hosts a terrific speaker who enlightens us with their own experience through writing or some aspect of writing. We’ve enjoyed historians, re-enactors, doctors, law enforcement officers, psychologists, weapons experts, and – oh, yes – authors! Writer’s Life is an additional program designed for published authors and pre-published authors with an interest in the topic.

Lunch is held “Dutch treat” at the Museum Cafe from 11:30 to 1:00. This is a time to visit and learn the latest news gathered from the publishing world as members relate what they’ve been up to during the past month.

We’re a friendly bunch of Authors and love welcoming guests and new members.

Guests may attend up to two meetings.  Afterward, if you wish to continue attending, we ask that you become a member of OKRWA and RWA (if you aren’t already) so that your dues can help defray the costs of our meetings.

Parking is free at some street-side parking spots on Saturdays. Please check the signs where you park to make sure and to avoid parking tickets. For more information on downtown parking, visit

We meet in Classroom C (or the “adult classroom”), which is carpeted and furnished with tables, chairs, and a built-in counter perfect for food and drink setup.

Classroom C also includes a marker board, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, speakers, and versatile lighting. The furniture in Classroom C can be moved to suit your meeting or event.  Seating capacity: 36 guests
